The guest house at Sandveld Dorpshuys offers old world charm in this beautiful old homestead of more  than a century old. Barbie and Sonja are always present to welcome you with open arms into this interesting home which has been lovingly restored by owner Jane Le Grange who has painstakingly added to the ambience by furnishing the guest house with authentic antique furniture, original paintings and memorabilia. from days of old.  Who could possibly ask for more than the enormous tranquil garden setting with a gaggle of geese to keep the kids amused, horses to ride, kittens to play with, pigs to feed and chickens and bantams producing farm fresh eggs for the sumptuous breakfast table layed on every morning by Barbie and Sonja?

The rooms at Sandveld Dorpshuys are appropriately named after some of the abundant bird species to be found in the area, some offering luxurious en-suite bathrooms, amenities and televisions in all the rooms.

Pellekamer (sleeps 4)

The "Pellekamer" at Sandveld Dorpshuys doubles as a cosy self catering unit for a family of 4 or a bed and breakfast unit. One double bed and 1 double bunk bed with an en-suite bathroom with shower.  Kitchenette with microwave, indoor BBQ, fully equipped to self cater with lovely outdoor table and chairs on the veranda overlooking the garden, boma and animals.

Lepellêer (sleeps 2)

Lepellêer, the Dorpshuys's honeymoon suite is romantically decorated in typical "olde worlde" charm lending itself to a memorable honeymoon hideout.  Lepelleer has an en-suite bathroom including shower and bath,  tea and coffee making facilities and own entrance.

Suikerbossie (sleeps 2)

Double bed and hospitality tray.  This room has a bathroom with shower on the veranda and can be used as part of a family unit together with Lepellêer and Piet-my-vroutjie and has the full use of a fully equipped kitchenette in the hallway for guests wishing to self cater.

Piet-my-Vroutjie (sleeps 2)

Very spacious room with double bed, entrance to room from rear of guest house (garden side) and a door to the shady veranda in the front of the guest house. Television in the room with bathroom with bath in hallway. This room is ideal to share as a family room together with Lepellêer and Suikerbossie as it has easy access to the fully equipped kitchen in the hallway.

Bokmakierie (sleeps 2)

Double bed with en-suite bathroom (bath and shower,) TV and hospitality tray.  This room has its own entrance from the garden and a beautiful patio where you can relax and take in the surrounding scenery.

Loft Rooms

Loft rooms are accessed from the garden entrance, are spacious and share ablution facilities with campers at Sandveld Dorpshuys's Camping Facilities on the property.  The rooms are equipped with televisions, hospitality trays, comfortable chairs and writing tables.

Backpackers Accommodation

The dorm style accommodation, situated in the loft,  is adequately furnished to accommodate a large group of backpackers.  Beds are comfortable with linen and pillows supplied.  Backpackers have full use of the outstanding ablution facilities available on the premises in addition to laundry facilities.
